MV Advancements was awarded a grant of $500,000 from The Austin Family Foundation for the organization’s headquarters capital campaign construction project.

The $500,000 grant will be allocated entirely to a new building for the nonprofit, located in McMinnville. According to Kathy Schlotfeldt, Executive Director of MVA, it will be more than just an office space for the organization.

“Not only will it provide efficient and collaborative office space for our employees, but it will provide program and community space,” Schlotfeldt said. “It will also raise awareness that people with disabilities are a valued and contributing part of our communities.

The plans for the building are set to include an Assistive Technology Resource Center, bringing about wider knowledge and adoption of assistive technology in Yamhill County, and community spaces for events. MVA plans to begin construction on the project in spring 2024.

“The Austin Family Foundation grant will send a strong message to other funders,” Schlotfeldt said. “We deeply appreciate the Austin Family Foundation’s support and belief in our work.”

The Austin Family Foundation serves Newberg and Yamhill County to enhance the lives of everyone within the community, contributing to two core focus areas: education and human services.
