$50,000 Awarded to MV Advancements

This spring MV Advancements responded to an RFP from the local workforce board requesting proposals to assist adults with multiple barriers to employment to achieve self-sufficiency through employment. The award for $50,000 was approved in April and is renewable each year for the following four years.

Using this funding, MV Advancements will expand employment options for individuals with multiple barriers to employment by assisting individuals to navigate the larger world of systems and resources available to them in their communities through WorkSource Oregon, MV Advancements and other community resources. We will be hiring a bilingual Systems Navigator trained in person-centered planning techniques.

This funding will help us:

  • Support the Spanish speaking community
  • Identify and maximize employment resources for the individuals we serve
  • Expand employment options in Marion and Polk counties
  • Bridge gaps in services for young adults
  • Redirect individuals formerly working in sheltered environments in Marion and Polk counties to community employment.

This much-needed service and funding will open up a wave of new opportunitiesopen up in Marion and Polk counties. We are excited to expand our reach and improve the employment outcomes for people experiencing barriers to employment.
