BAKER STREET APARTMENTS/SUPPORTED LIVING PROGRAM, RESIDENTIAL DIRECT CARE SUPPORT I, FULL-TIME

WAGE AND STATUS

Pay Grade #23, which starts at $12.00 per hour; non-exempt: eligible for overtime pay. Residential Direct Care Support staff who work after 10:00 pm and before 6:00 am on weekdays, and/or for hours worked at any time on Saturday and Sunday, will receive a .50 cents per hour shift differential for those work hours.

NOW OFFERING $250 sign-on bonus at time of hire to be received with the first payroll check PLUS additional $250 after successful completion of first 6 months’ employment.

Juan is Now Community Employed

Juan grew up in Hood River and moved to McMinnville in 2010. He worked as a builder at Wood Products for three years and then started working at Serendipity Ice Cream in 2013. In 2015 Juan decided he wanted to try community employment. After a short time working with a job developer he found a job with Willamette Valley Medical Center as a dishwasher. He is already making connections with team at WVMC that will move Juan forward in his goals of a fulfilling and independent life.

Matt’s Feeling Good About His New Job

Matt started his job at Sweep Rite in August. He does litter patrol at several locations in McMinnville, including along Highway 18. He likes making a difference in his community. He says, “As long as I’m doing my job, and doing a good job, I feel good.” He enjoys meeting new people and the independence of working on his own. September 18, 2015 was his last day at Wood Products.

Jordan is Now Working at Hi-Tek

Jordan requested Employment Path services with MV Advancements at our Dallas VOC janitorial program. He fit in great – his coworkers and supervisor appreciated his attitude and he was a hard worker. In the meantime, Dallas VOC Employment Specialists developed a job opportunity at Hi-Tek Electronics in Salem. The Employment Specialists learned what was important to the employer and the business needs a MV Advancements pre-screened job seeker could address. Sabrina is Keeping the Dallas WalMart Looking Good

Sabrina was referred to MV Advancements Dallas VOC by OVRS (Voc Rehab) for job developing. Employment Specialists assisted Sabrina with job preparation services and job developing. Sabrina was hired by Walmart Stores in Dallas for a Day Maintenance position. This position is responsible for keeping the store looking nice during the day, recycling hangers and plastic, performing safety sweeps throughout the store, cleaning up spills (including hazardous waste), and other duties as assigned. Rene Lands Her Dream Job!

Rene worked for eight years at Quality Foods in Tacoma, Washington. She moved to McMinnville in 2013 and began working for Fred Meyer in Newberg. Rene just started working her dream job at Petco in McMinnville. She loves working with animals and shopping. She is involved in Special Olympics swimming and enjoys volunteering at Homeward Bound.
